Mufti, which was directed by Narthan and bankrolled by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner of Jayanna Combines, got a positive response when it released. This film starring Shivraj Kumar, Srimurali, Shanvi Srivastava, Madhu Guruswamy and Vasishta N Simha, is a neo-noir action crime thriller film that had Shivanna playing the gang boss Bhairathi Ranagal.
The latest buzz in Kollywood is that producer Gnanavel Raja has acquired the Tamil remake rights of ‘Mufti’. Arya is said to have approached to play an undercover cop in the film and the producer wants STR to play the gangster. With the news on him making an extended cameo appearance as Hansika's pair in her 50th movie Maha directed by debutant UR Jameel becoming official, the actor will finish Maha and then join Venkat Prabhu's Manadu produced by Suresh Kamatchi.
