Chitrangada Singh to divorce golf star husband

The couple has reportedly filed for divorce by mutual consent on Friday, at the Gurgaon family court.

When they married 12 years ago, the golfing fraternity called it a "pair that was made in heaven."
Chitrangada, 37, confirmed that she had gone to the Gurgaon court with her husband but claimed it was for an internal settlement of a property dispute.

Media reports had said that Chitrangada and Jyoti Randhawa, 41, had filed divorce plea in the family court on Friday following irreconcilable differences between the couple.
The reports suggested that the actress was facing a tough time meeting her commitments in Mumbai and looking after their five-year-old son Zorawar.

Jyoti Randhawa wants Chitrangada to spend more time with their son as he is away for a considerable part of the year for his golf tournaments, they said.

The couple tied the knot in 2001. There were reports earlier that their marriage was on the rocks but the actress had dubbed it as baseless. The model-turned-actress made a successful debut in Bollywood with Sudhir Mishra's critically acclaimed film Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi in 2003.

She took a break from acting from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, she made her comeback with a leading role opposite Sanjay Suri in director Onir's romantic-comedy, Sorry Bhai.

Chitrangada officially forayed into commercial cinema with Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz opposite Akshay Kumar in 2011 and then followed it up with an item number in Shirish Kunder's Joker and acted in Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz in 2011 and more recently, Inkaar and I, Me Aur Main.
