It’s been over a year since Amal Neerad announced his magnum opus, Arivaal Chuttika Nakshatram, but the project is yet to take off. The latest from the camp is that the movie is now pushed to September next year.
Incidentally, the last few months had the director claiming he’s busy with its pre-production so the project could go on floors in December. Confirming that the project starring Mammootty and Prithviraj is delayed, Amal says, “There are some scheduling conflicts. We are yet to lock on Prithviraj’s dates. The project would only begin by next year.”
Interestingly, last time Prithviraj, who is also producing the movie, had talked to us, he had said they were waiting for Mammootty’s dates. However, a source from the industry also tells us that the film producers association is keen on Prithviraj completing his already committed projects before he takes up his own production. His signed projects include, Mumbai Police, that was announced in 2010, and a Shaji Kailas film that was stalled in 2009.
Meanwhile, a source from his production company tells us that they have taken up a project by debutant director Albert Antony. “Prithviraj is busy in Bollywood and has yet another project lined up there. He would be doing a project by a debutant director before Arivaal Chuttika Nakshatram, which is a massive project,” he says.
