There is a good news about Maanadu.We now hear that the film is expected to go on floors on February 3, 2019 on the occasion of Simbu's birthday. Suresh Kamatchi, the producer of the film, took to Twitter to announce the news, adding that Maanadu is a 'romance and power-packed action movie'.
Venkat Prabhu also said that he was considering a summer release. “As a team, I think we will be able to pull it off and release our film for summer 2019.” There are reports that Keerthy Suresh might play the female lead, but nothing has been finalized yet.
This is the first time that STR and Venkat Prabhu are collaborating on a film. While the filmmaker is currently involved in the post-production of Party, Simbu is awaiting the release of Vandha Rajavathan Varuven on Pongal 2019, when he clashes at the box office with Rajinikanth and Ajith. The film began earlier this year, when Silambarasan and Sundar C travelled to Bulgaria to shoot the introduction song. “We had a fun time filming the sequence. STR is a talented dancer. And he’s really amazing in that song. There’s absolutely nothing he won’t try in order to entertain the audience. I guess that’s the result of the decades of experience he has in the industry,” Sundar C said.
