Ranjith Sankar will next direct Mammootty. Renjith reveals that he has a very distinct character in store for Mammootty in the new film. Looks like filmmaker Ranjith Shankar is on a dream run. After reaping success with his Jaya s u r ya - s t a r re r, Punyalan Agarbattis, the director has now roped in megastar Mammootty for his next project. Ranjith is excited about working with the superstar for the first time.
“I would say that this will be a film that would make the most of the calibre of a performer like Mammootty. That would be its speciality, and I assure it will be remembered for the same,” says the director whose Passenger is said to have kickstarted the new wave of movie-making in Mollywood. Ranjith also adds that like his previous films, the latest one would also be a mass entertainer. “We have not decided on the leading lady and the title yet. The locations are Palakkad and Thrissur, and we hope to start the shooting soon,” he says.
Sujith Vasudev, who reaped gold in 2013 through movies like Memories, Drishyam, Ayal and Punyalan, would take care of the cinematography of the movie, said Ranjith.National award-winner Bijibal would compose music for the movie, but the heroine, rest of the cast and name of the movie are yet to be decided, added Ranjith. M e a n wh i l e, Mammootty is currently shooting for Aashiq Abu’s Gangster, in which he dons a salt and pepper look. Ranjith has a totally different character in store for the Malayalam Mega Star in the movie, which would be produced by his own film company.
