Prithviraj, the hottest actor in Mollywood, is all set to pair along with Parvathi Menon in an upcoming movie. The film is directed by RS Vimal and has an interesting title too. The movie is based on the life of a living person Kanchana and is tilted Ennu Ninte Moideen.
“Moideen was an extremely interesting character in that there was nothing that he wasn’t. He was a footballer, editor of a sports magazine, a photographer, and above all, a social worker. He died while saving the victims of a country boat accident.” The reason why he chose Prithviraj to play the character of Moideen was because he needed someone who would stand out in a crowd, and had the stature of a person loved and admired by all, he says. “I’m a first time director, but when I sounded the story to Prithvi and showed him the documentary, he agreed to take it up. He was very much interested in knowing more about the real life story too,” says Vimal.
The real life Kanchanamala too was a rebel; she was instrumental in putting an end to the practice of serving different varieties of food to college students, depending on their financial status, back in the 60s. “Parvathy is an actress who is very selective about her films, and who gives her all to the few films that she does. I felt that she was the best person to play Kanchanamala.”
