Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal, an adventurous movie is Produced by Niyas Ismail under the banner of Frames Inevitable and directed by Ajith Pillai. Asif Ali and Sunny Wayne appeared in male lead roles, while Swati Reddy and Janani Iyer played the female lead. Pivotal supporting roles are played by Nedumudi Venu and Nishanth Sagar.
MKM unfolds with a soliloquy of Alex(Asif Ali) who narrates his tale.A rich spoiled person who is the 14 th son of a headstrong christian father played by Nedumudi Venu. He becomes an orphan with immense wealth,after his parents death. He is at odds with his innumerable relatives including his siblings who are much elder than him. As fate would have it he finds himself in the jail after being double crossed by one of his friends. Life takes a turn for him in the jail. His inability to come to terms with the jail atmosphere prompts him to attempt a jail break. After a couple of failed attempts Alex succeeds.Soon his destiny is intertwined with Akbar Ali(Sunny Wayne), a fellow jail breaker. The mysterious air that envelops Akbar puzzles Alex, but he is forced to pursue him in his trail. The Lakshadweep native Akbar has an unfinished task to do. Alex who is by nature like a log of wood floating in the currents ,this time has a reason to follow Akbar to the exotic islands. We get a taste of the life in the islands and also the special variant of Malayalam used there. Things get into a bit of tangle as the twosome run into Hashim(Nishanth Sagar) who is a shady fellow. Isa(Swati Reddy),Deena(Janani Iyer) have significance in the lives of the escaped convicts. The unravelling of the plot proves a bit of drag as the visuals overwhelm the tale. At some point things get stuck as the screen starts to appear as a beautiful still painting. The love story which is its essence is half baked and towards the end it gets a bit tedious.
In the first half, it is unable to decide where the storyline is heading, but after sometime it keeps up the pace. Narration and cinematography was excellent and has represented all the instances nicely. Touted to be a complete entertainer package has suspense, romance, action, thrill and drama that able to entangle the audience in Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal saga.This big budget movie, also finds the stunning performance of Asif Ali and Sunny Wayn that has captivated audience senses.
Wonderful cinematography of Abhinand Ramanujam and amazing music of Prashant Pillai is an experience unfelt before. Also, the unusual extravagant style in which saga of romance unveils is excellent, applauded by the audience and scored positive comments.
