Vikram Vedha Review

The plot unfolds as a cat-and-mouse game between hard-nosed cop Vikram(Madhavan)  and notorious gangster Vedha (Vijay Sethupathi).Every character has shades of grey and it would be impossible to imagine who could be good or bad. Even the costumes are predominantly black and white. Even in terms of shot compositions, in every frame of the film, you’ll find white as well as black space.

There are about a dozen supporting players involved in this game between Vikram and Vedha. Vikram’s wife Priya (Shraddha Srinath), who is also Vedha’s lawyer; Vikram’s team, which includes SP Surendar (Achyutha Kumar), who has become disabled in the line of duty, and Simon (Prem), Vikram’s friend; Vedha’s brother Pulli (Kathir) and his girlfriend Chandra (Varalaxmi), who are pawns in a more dangerous game; Chetta (Haresh Peradi), a rival gangster whom Vedha is warring against; and also Vedha’s men, one of whom has been colluding with the cops.

Vijay Sethupathi’s performance enlivens the crowd. The guy just oozes of charisma to the point where you probably start rooting for the villain! The writing really brings the versatile actor alive - extremely smart, witty, and with an ability to make you laugh too. Madhavan has given a whole- hearted feat- he doesn’t need the witty one-liners or excessive dialogues. He makes you feel the character.

On the technical side, PS Vinod’s cinematography really stood out. Chitralokam would like to appreciate the hard work of director  Pushkar and Gayathri. We are expecting more movies from you guys.

Verdict : Vikram Vedha - A Must Watch Thriller

Rating : 4/5
