Actress Meghana Raj has been signed on to play Prithviraj’s heroine in his next cop outing post Mumbai Police. Meghana will play Prithviraj’s wife in director Jeethu Joseph’s next film post the filmmaker’s recent hit, My Boss, which starred Dileep and Mamta Mohandas. Incidentally, this will be the second film this year which will have the State Award winner playing a police officer, the first being Rosshan Andrrews’ Mumbai Police. Talking about her role in the film, Meghana says, “I play this soft, demure wife of the cop Prithviraj will be playing. His partner is one among the very few people he cherishes in life. I’m excited to share screenspace with one of the most good looking and talented actors in the industry,” she beams. “I’ve acted with his elder brother, Indrajith, in Mullamottum Mundirichaarum, and in the upcoming film, Up and Down: Mukalil Oraal Undu. I’ve heard a lot about Prithviraj from him and I’m looking forward to doing the film.” The actress has a handful of upcoming releases in Mollywood, including a women-centric film by Rajesh Nair. Though, she doesn’t believe in classifying films into women-centric and hero-centric. “It’s more about basing the storyline on an individual — man or woman. Of course, I’m all for women getting to play prominent parts. Rajesh’s film is about how four women from different backgrounds find themselves entangled in a murder mystery and how they come out of it,” says Meghana.
